Welcome to Views of Veneto.

Beautiful, isn't it?  This is the Veneto.  Only a portion of it of course, the portion I used to see everyday from my home when I lived and worked in Italy.  Those are the Alps you see in the background.   "Where is Veneto you ask?"  Well, Veneto is the region in Northern Italy around Venice.  Venice is the capitol city of the region.   I used to live in the northwest corner of the Veneto region right up under the Italian Alps in the very small town of Sarcedo.  The city of Vicenza was not far from Sarcedo.

I lived and worked in Italy from 1986 until my retirement in 2004. The photo you see was shot from my back yard in November of 1997.  Photography is one of my hobbies, and living in such a picturesque and historic region made my hobby even more enjoyable.  That building in the background is very old and has a lot of history connected with it, and some even say it is haunted.  Oh, but that's another story!

But times have changed, I now live in my home state of Texas!  As the old saying goes "you can take the boy out of Texas, but you can't take Texas out of the boy"!   Even though the "boy" left around 50 years ago!  Now I am home.

Website development is another hobby of mine.  Computers have always held an interest for me, I built my first computer over 25 years ago.  I have seen the Internet grow from infancy to the vast network that it is today.  Use of the Internet is increasing daily, the cost of computers has gone down significantly, thus they have become more available and user friendly.  One of the most popular activities on the Internet is chatting, visit Seniors2.com, an Internet Chat Community for senior citizens that my partner and I originated and developed in 1998.
